Delivering Aid to Families Impacted by Floods in Taungoo

In recent weeks, Myanmar faced severe flooding due to heavy monsoon rains, impacting thousands of people across the country. One of the hardest-hit areas was the town of Taungoo in the Bago Region, where many families saw their homes and livelihoods washed away by the rising floodwaters.

In Taungoo, the floods submerged homes and fields, damaging infrastructure and leaving families in desperate need of food, clothing, and financial assistance. For the residents of the 19th Ward, the aftermath was devastating — entire households were left without basic supplies, and many were struggling to recover.

A dedicated group of volunteers from Shwe Than Lwin Group, SkyNet Media, SHWE Bank, and staff from other company subsidiaries, quickly organised relief efforts. The team traveled to Taungoo on October 11 to provide vital support to 90 affected households.

The team brought with them bags of rice, canned fish, instant noodles, coffee, and clothing — essential supplies that these families needed to survive in the aftermath of the disaster. In addition to the food and clothing, the Group also provided financial aid to help families get back on their feet during this difficult time.

I’m so thankful to Shwe Than Lwin Group for all the help — it’s really made a difference for my family and others.
