The building of Shwe Than Lwin Group
Kyaw Win’s entrepreneurial journey began modestly, taking a job at his uncle’s tyre shop. He quickly developed his business acumen and understanding of commercial dynamics through hands-on learning.
Here he spotted an early trading opportunity by exchanging a package of unwanted tyres for a used pickup. From here, his auto trading business took flight. Kyaw Win identified an opportunity to import used cars from Japan into Myanmar, before expanding to heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses and bulldozers.
This early success set the foundations, and provided the opportunities for Shwe Than Lwin to become the business it is today: a company committed to connecting the population of Myanmar and providing opportunities for Myanmar’s people.
