Yangon, Myanmar — 20 June 2025 — Following the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28, 2025, Shwe Than Lwin Group launched an emergency relief initiative that delivered nearly 3 million meals over 62 consecutive days to affected communities across Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, and surrounding regions.
This historic relief effort began on March 31, marking one of the Group’s largest humanitarian responses to date. The operation was supported by hundreds of volunteers from Shwe Than Lwin’s subsidiaries including Sky Net, SHWE Bank, MO Money, and Mandala who dedicated their time and energy to preparing and distributing fresh, nutritious meals every day through May 31, 2025.
In addition to meal distribution, the Group provided critical aid, including:
- Steel water tanks and clean drinking water
- Medical supplies and first-aid kits
- Solar light bulbs and hygiene items
- Portable toilets for temporary shelters
The operation was made possible through the combined efforts of local coordination, internal logistics, and generous contributions from both domestic and international donors.
Shwe Than Lwin Group has long demonstrated its commitment to supporting disaster-affected communities in Myanmar. In previous crises including Cyclone Mocha, Cyclone Nargis, and the Rakhine flooding, flood impacted by Typhoon Yagi, the Group provided hundreds of thousands of meals and essential supplies to vulnerable populations.
